Fifteen minutes from Heathrow and twenty from our Uxbridge base. The easiest royal day out in the country, and the best possible use of a long layover.
What the day looks like
Windsor is close enough to Heathrow that this works as a layover tour as easily as a day trip. The castle is the draw — the State Apartments and St George's Chapel need a couple of hours if you are not rushing — and Eton across the bridge is a quiet twenty-minute walk that most visitors skip. We can add the Long Walk for the view back to the castle if the weather holds.
